Muhammad Ali frequently quoted the Qur’an in his speeches and interviews. One of his favorite verses was:

“To me, the Holy Qur’an teaches that every soul shall have a taste of death.” (Qur’an 3:185)

He also stated:

“True Muslims know that the ruthless violence of so-called Islamic jihadists goes against the very tenets of our religion.”

This was part of his public statement condemning terrorism and emphasizing that Islam’s teachings had been distorted by extremists.
